Mariscos El Huichol: Authentic Mexican Seafood in Joliet

I love this place. My favorite thing to get is their shrimp empanadas. The portions are big and definitely worth the drive for me. By far the best shrimp empanadas in the area. As a heads up there is not a lot of parking so you’ll have to park in the street of the neighborhood.

Once you set foot in the restaurant they greed you and welcome you with small appetizer bringing the menu with them, very kind all the waitresses that stepped by our table, the food was on point and delicious Excellente servicio Tanto de comida como de servicio a su clientela mis respetos Gracias.

The ceviche and horchata was fresh, and very flavorful. The red snapper was nice and crispy just lacked seasoning, needed more spices and herbs... I've had better rice as well the $30 wasn't the issue that's reasonable but usually I get more with the ensalada like avocado tomato and there were no beans either.... besides that wasn't bad.

Excellent and unique tasting dishes. I’d suggest getting small portions of different dishes to see what you prefer.

I had a very very good experience here. To start off, instead of chips and salsa, they give ceviche with seafood and large chips. I went with the fried snapper which was amazing. The fish was about a foot long and fried perfectly and came with rice and beans. I was with a group of friends and our water glasses were always full. Service was above average and good came out fairly quick. Please check out this local gem in Joliet. Cheers!!

I'm not a seafood fan, but what I like about Huichol is: sushi, deep-fried tilapia, and ceviche. The dishes are well-served. The waitress did mention that the menu prices weren't updated; everything had gone up two or three dollars. I haven't had any problems when I go to the restaurant; the staff is friendly, and the food is ready quickly.

A very good restaurant, the taste is not inferior to the high-end seafood restaurant, and the ingredients are real, it is all seafood, we like it very much, will visit again!

This place was pretty unique...I did not know that there was an all seafood Mexican Restaurant...That's all they serve is seafood and I was impressed! I had the spicy shrimp and the reason I gave them 4 stars was because I was expecting better shrimp and my boyfriend had there'd snapper which was damn good too (you know I had to taste it). All I all the flavor and presentation was great.
